Плиска (Πλίσκα) - Η Βασιλική του Παλατιού | Плиска - Дворцовата базилика

Στα δυτικά του Παλατιού βρισκόταν η Дворцовата базилика (Ντβορτσόβατα Μπαζίλικα - "Βασιλική του Παλατιού").

Κατά κανόνα, τα λατρευτικά κτίρια εξυπηρετούσαν κατά καιρούς διάφορες θρησκείες.

Ο αποκαλούμενος Голям Езически храм (γκολιάμ εζίτσεσκι χραμ - "Μεγάλος Ειδωλολατρικός Ναός") (1) της Πλίσκα (πριν τον 9ο αιώνα) μετατράπηκε σε εκκλησία (864-869/870) όταν οι Βούλγαροι προσηλυτίστηκαν στον Χριστιανισμό (2). Ο ρυθμός της ήταν Βασιλική με ιερό τριών διαμερισμάτων.

Αργότερα η Βασιλική επεκτάθηκε αποκτώντας τρία ευρύχωρα αψιδωτά κλίτη (3).

[ENG] At the west of the palace there was the Palace Basilica. By an ancient tradition, the cult buildings served various religions. The so-called "Large Heathen Temple" (1 at the drawing of the Basilica) in Pliska was reconstructed as a church after the converting to Christianity too. It is of a Basilica type with three part altar and premises for the ruling prince and the bishop (2). Later the Palace Basilica was enlarged - three spacious apses and a marble altar barrier with rich plastic decoration (3) were formed. It was the only cathedral in Pliska - King's and Bishop's church.
