Κάθε χρόνο, το πρώτο Σάββατο της Σαρακοστής, οργανώνονται στο Βουλγαρικό χωριό Челопеч (Τσελοπέτς), ιππικοί αγώνες προς τιμήν του Αγίου Θεοδώρου του Στρατηλάτη, προστάτη των Αλόγων...
Η μέρα ονομάζεται και Конски Великден (Κόνσκι Βελίκντεν), δηλαδή το "Πάσχα των Αλόγων"...
Στα αγωνίσματα της ημέρας περιλαμβάνονται ιπποδρομίες...
...και μεταφορά φορτίου.
[ENG] In Bulgaria, on the first Saturday of the easter post, the orthodox church celebrates Todorovden (the day of Theodore). St. Theodore Stratelate is considered to be the protector of the horses and his name-day is honored with horse games... That is why his day is called also "The Easter of the Horses" (Konski Velikden)... The photos is from the events organized by the Bulgarian village Chelopech on 07.03.2009...
